Here's what a backyard patio job looks like before a single pour happens. The gravel base is packed in, the forms are set along the perimeter, and the rebar is staked and ready to go. That prep work is what separates a patio that lasts from one that cracks and shifts in a few years.

We don't skip steps. Getting the base right - compaction, drainage, form placement - is the whole game. You can have the nicest stamped finish in the world, but if what's underneath isn't solid, it won't hold up.

This backyard got a full stamped concrete patio along with new stamped steps off the back door. The steps tie everything together and give the space a clean, finished look instead of that disconnected, awkward transition you see with old wood or basic concrete block steps.

What we ended up with is a backyard that's actually usable. Sharp edges, a consistent stamped pattern, and steps that feel like they belong there. It's the kind of outdoor space that adds real value to a home without overcomplicating the design.

Whether you're starting completely fresh or replacing something worn out, a stamped patio done right makes a noticeable difference. We've built a lot of them, and the details always show in the final product.
